New England Basque Club's New Officers
The New England Basque Club recently had a changing of the guard. After several years of coordinating the club's efforts, Sergio Sotelo and Naiara Azpiri have decided to step down as President and Vice-President of the organization. As of September, the baton was passed to Juan Mari Aramendi and Ander Caballero, President and Vice-President respectively, who are accompanied not only by the outgoing officers, but also Roberto Guerenabarrena, Ismael Biurrun, Ricky Sotil, Andrea Jones-Berasaluce, Kattalin Berriochoa, Eduardo Arrieta, Jose Ramon Aja, and Raul Blanco-Basterretxea who will serve on the board. Zorionak to the new officers, and many thanks for the work done by Sergio and Naiara! Visit them on Facebook to see their 2018 calendar of events.
Delegation of Euskadi Highlighted by EACC
Every month the European American Chamber of Commerce (EACC), in New York, highlights one of its members in its newsletter. In September, the Delegation of Euskadi in the US was featured in the "monthly member spotlight." This is what they had to say about the Delegation, "The Delegation of the Basque Country is a government agency dedicated to empowering and promoting business, culture, and economic relations between the United States and the Basque Country. The Delegation of the Basque Country has been operating in New York since 2009, and works with a dynamic network of partners and companies including the EACC to help strengthen transatlantic business opportunities for Basque and American companies located in both regions."
