Kantari Eguna and Fall NABO Meeting in Rocklin
Iparreko Ibarra Basque Club in Rocklin, CA is once again hosting Kantari Eguna and the Fall NABO meeting on October 8th. The festivities will begin with a Mus Tournament at 8am followed by lunch and Kantari at 1pm, followed by a weight carrying competition at 4pm. Dinner will be served at 6pm with a dance to follow to the music of the Jean Flesher and Rene Caballero Band. A room block has been held at the Holiday Inn Express under Basque Club. Reservations must be made by September 25th in order to guarantee the rate. Dinner reservations are requested by October 1. Thanks to the efforts of Philippe Acheritogaray and the NABO Filmategi, the film Amama and its producer and director, Marian Fernandez and Asier Altuna respectively, will be touring six different Basque entities during the month of October. From October 5th to the15th, the film will be shown at the Basque Museum and Cultural Center in Boise, the San Francisco Basque Cultural Center, the Chino Basque Club, the WAD Center for Basque Studies, and at the Euzko Etxea in New York.
