Elko Euzkaldunak Membership Luncheon

ElkoThe Elko Euzkaldunak Basque Club will be hosting its monthly membership luncheon this Sunday, January 10th at noon at the Basque clubhouse (1601 Flagview Drive). Besides a wonderful meal prepared by club president, Ramon Zugazaga, there will also be sign-ups for the club dance group. Dancers must be members of the club to participate along with an additional $15 per year. Dancers under the age of 18 are covered by their parent's membership. Reno Zazpiak Bat Installation Dinner

Reno's Zazpiak Bat Basque Club will be holding its annual installation dinner, where new officers to the board are welcomed, on Saturday, January 9th at Louis' Basque Corner. Cocktails begin at 5:30 with dinner to follow at 6pm. Cost of the dinner is $32 per adult and $18 per child with an RSVP, or $37 per adult and $23 per child without an RSVP. The dance group is also holding its first parent's meeting on January 13th at 6:30pm at Jessie Beck Elementary School (1900 Sharon Way, Reno, NV 89509). The meeting is mandatory for parents and will cover practice times, costumes and this year's calendar. For more information about the dancers email Angie Reeder.

 

Rosemarie Ascona Mus Tournament

Ascona Mus TournamentThe Southern California Basque Club will be hosting its annual Rosemarie Ascona Mus Tournament this Sunday, January 10th at Brinderson Hall at the Chino Fairgrounds. Check-in is a 7am with tournament play beginning at 8am. Lunch that includes Tripota, beef stew, lukainka, mashed potatoes, salad, cheese, bread and dessert will be served at noon. Cost of the event is $50 for Mus and lunch, or if you want to join them for lunch only, the cost is $18. For complete information visit their website.


Smithsonial Folklife Festival

SmithsonianOur friends at the Washington, DC Euskal Etxea have shared information regarding this summer's Smithsonian Folklife Festival June 29-July 4th and July 7-10, 2016. This year's event will be featuring the Basque culture, providing a unique opportunity to share our heritage with the world. Information on the festival can be found here.
