Chino Basque Festival
Chino Basque Club will celebrate its annual festival once again this Labor Day Weekend, September 5-7th. Festivities will begin on Saturday at the Centro Basco to help celebrate its 75th anniversary. The day will begin with Pala and Esku games starting at 1pm followed by dinner and dancing. Contact the Centro Basco for reservations: (909) 628-9014. Sunday begins with mass at 10am featuring the Klika and Besta Berri. Lunch will be served at 12:30 to be followed by performances by the dance groups and the Klika. Dinner will be served at 6:30pm featuring BBQ Lamb. There will also be a raffle for $1,000 grand prize at 9pm. Monday, everyone can get together at the Centro Basco again to enjoy brunch. Santa Rosa Basque Club Picnic - September 12
Misprinted in the NABO Calendar, the Santa Rosa Basque Club's picnic will actually take place on September 12th, not on September 5th. In hopes of catching anyone planning to attend this weekend, we're including information here. Festivities begin at 10am with Mass celebrated by Aita Antton at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Paradise Valley. The picnic follows at noon with games, food and drink at the Paradise Valley Fireman's Park. In the evening, beginning at 8pm, there will be a dance to Amuma Says No also in the Park. 8HZ Resumes this Sunday
This Sunday, September 6th, 8 Herrialdeak ZUZENEAN (8HZ) the Basque Diaspora's radio program, is back. The program is hosted by Benoit Etcheverry and Robert Acheritogaray in Basque, English, French and Spanish. The program airs from 11am-12:30 PST and can be heard live here. This Sunday's program will cover the Basque Center in Lima, Peru; Hendaia's Film Festival; the Basque Center on Reunion Island, and the group Begiz Begi.
