Begiz Begi Concert at San Francisco Basque Cultural Center
This is a super-busy weekend in Basque America! It all begins on Friday July 17th with Begiz Begi (Eye to Eye), a folk rock band from Baiona, performing a special concert at the San Francisco Basque Cultural Center at 8pm. Reno Basque Festival
Reno's Zazpiak Bat Basque Club will host its annual festival this Saturday, July 18th from 10am-10pm. The event will take place at Wingfield Park in downtown Reno, and will include food, dancing, rural sports exhibitions and contests, and a lot of fun for the whole family. This year's event will kick off on Friday night, July 17th at the Sands Regency with a dinner dance from 6pm-11pm. Cost for dinner is $22 for adults and $13 for children who have RSVP'd and $27 for adults and $18 for children with no RSVP. Dinner will be prime rib with all the fixings. Following dinner there will be a dance to the music of Amuma Says No. Amuma will also be providing the music at Saturday night's dance at Wingfield Park from 6-10pm following the day's festivities. Basque Soccer Friendly
The day that so many have been so anxiously waiting for has finally arrived! Game day is just over three days away when Bilbao's Athletic will play Club Tijuana at Boise State's Albertson Field, which is now green and not blue! There are several events planned leading up to the event including greeting the players at the airport, autograph signing parties, tailgating parties, and an after party in downtown Boise following the match.
