NABO PIlota Finals
The NABO Pilota Finals took place last weekend at the San Francisco Basque Cultural Center in conjunction with its annual Euskal Etxeko Jaialdia. The tournament included 11 games in 11 different categories ranging from youth 12 and under, to adult categories in both men's and women's divisions. In the words of Xabier Berrueta, event organizer and President of the United States Federation of Pelota, "NABO has been doing this for 42 going on 43 years and this past weekend was a surge and boost of motivation for myself, and hopefully for yourselves, to see that the spirit is there to perpetuate as well as develop pilota... more kids and more ladies playing... which is awesome...."
