Elko’s Euskaldunak Basque club will once again host this year’s NABO Convention July 4-7. As many may not realize, Elko is booming and with all the activity taking place in the construction and mining industries, hotel/motel rooms are at a premium. October New York’s Euzko Etxea will celebrate its 100th birthday October
11-14. The club has already extended invitations to dancers and klikas from
fellow NABO clubs to attend this monumental event. As hotels may be
prohibitive in New York, it has been suggested that folks look into
apartment sharing since many will make an entire week stay out of it. If
this is something that you think your group may be interested in here are a

Beer Entrepreneurs Seek InputWe would like to share a note and survey from some friends in the Basque Country who are looking for input from Basque beer drinkers around the world:
Euskal Etxeak from all over the world! We need your advice!
We are a group of young enthusiastic people taking off on a new adventure. We are in the process of creating a unique beer. A label distinctive to all others, thanks to its recipe, exclusively designed by Basque barkeepers, owners and bartenders committed to serving beer consumers the most genuine Basque beer. Needless to say, the success of this project would be incomplete without the participation of all those Basque people spread worldwide. This is why we kindly request your contribution.
Attached please find a questionnaire (in Euskera, Spanish or English) to be filled out. We ask that you take your time to think carefully what the perfect beer is for you, or would be for your friends or customers, if you have any, for daily pleasant life. This pool of inputs will then be used to develop a craft beer, comprised of our beliefs and culture. A craft beer that will be savored by everyone, knowing that those who know best what their folks like, dedicated their time and kindliness to design it. Our beer, with everything inside we have to share.
Once collected all your recipe suggestions, all variables will be wrapped up into the first beer exclusively originated by Basque barkeepers and a ceremonial event will be held for its public introduction. If distance or timing is not a major inconvenient, we will be more than flattered to welcome you there. In any case, regular updates will be delivered about the progress of the project. We hope you find the initiative interesting.
